Natasha Fourie
Conservation Officer
Natasha’s passion for nature began in childhood, as she often followed her father across the rugged mountains of their Little Karoo farm. Most of her early years were spent exploring the veld and playing in the dirt, fostering a deep connection with the natural world.
After high school, she knew there was only one career path for her—conservation. She pursued a BSc in Biodiversity and Ecology at Stellenbosch University, equipping herself with the knowledge to protect and study South Africa’s diverse ecosystems.
Following university, Natasha worked as a Conservation Officer at a Big Five game reserve in the Little Karoo, where she fulfilled her dream of living and working in the wild. It was during this time that she developed a profound appreciation for the often-overlooked species of the Cape.
In 2025, Natasha joined the Cape Leopard Trust as a Conservation Officer, temporarily assisting the research and conservation team. This role allows her to contribute directly to the protection of the leopards of the Cape, and other species, turning her passion into action.
Natasha firmly believes in the importance of protecting the natural world for future generations. She is committed to fostering a balance between conservation and human-wildlife coexistence, ensuring that South Africa’s unique biodiversity is preserved for years to come.
