
Naas van Jaarsveld
Education Manager
Naas joined the Cape Leopard Trust in August 2019 and currently serves as the Education Coordinator, leading environmental education initiatives across the Western Cape. His role focuses on raising awareness about predator and biodiversity conservation, inspiring young people to appreciate and protect the natural world.
With more than eight years of experience as a nature guide, Naas has a deep understanding of South Africa’s ecosystems and a passion for sharing this knowledge. He trained as a field guide, earning FGASA and CyberTracker qualifications at the Limpopo Field Guide Academy, and obtained both a Bachelor’s and an Honours degree in Environmental Management. He is currently furthering his studies with a Master of Science in Environmental Management, focusing on ecosystem restoration.
Naas has a strong interest in predator conservation, community-based natural resource management and ecosystem restoration. His work allows him to bridge research and education while developing engaging programmes that highlights the importance of biodiversity conservation.
As Education Coordinator, Naas continues to lead and create meaningful learning experiences, empowering young conservationists and encouraging a sense of environmental stewardship in communities across the region.
