Iszabella Le Roux
Communications Officer
Iszabella grew up very close to nature in the heart of the bushveld, and believes that conservation is more than a mindset – it is a way of life. She has always loved all animals – from mending a snail’s cracked shell to hand-feeding a tail-less gecko, and caring for any critter in need has always been a strong urge.
After High School, Iszabella went on to complete a BSc in Biodiversity and Ecology at Stellenbosch University. She enjoyed the course but her creative side was left feeling unfulfilled, and she knew she had to find a way to express her artistic passion on the one hand while also helping to protect the planet on the other. This led her to pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in Science Communication at the University of Otago via distance learning. Simultaneously, she completed a Science Communication internship at the Two Oceans Aquarium in aid of marine conservation. One of the projects she was very passionate about entailed writing and illustrating an interactive children’s e-book that aimed to introduce young minds to the wonders hidden below the depths of the underwater world.
In July 2025 Iszabella joined the CLT as Communications Officer, where she fulfils her passion alongside colleague Jeannie. She assists with ensuring that the CLT’s meaningful work reaches a public audience in an accurate and accessible way.
